Hello everyone,
It has been a while! I know. I’m in Guatemala now and I have been here almost a week. I have met some awesome students and teachers here at Colegio Interamericano so far, and things are off to a solid start.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of joining a group of teachers for a trip to participate in some of the celebrations for Dia De Los Muertos (or is it Dia De Los Santos here? I am still confused on that). We walked around the cemetery, saw some giant kites, and ate delicious meat before heading back into the city.
Things ended well back in Ecuador. I found myself wishing I had more time to spend with the students again, so I suppose that is a good sign. I also wish I had gotten a chance to get to know the other music teachers at Balandra better as well. Good people.
Only three left weeks until I am back in the U.S. I am definitely ready for a break from traveling. Don’t get me wrong, I love it. But, it is tiring going to a new country every month, that is just the way it is. It is time for a break! To see my family and just be still for a while.
I am here in Guatemala for now though, and am going to make the best of this time. I am excited to see what the students are able to come up with over these next few weeks.
More news from Guatemala in a week or so.
