It is Sunday afternoon here in Guatemala and I just spent a couple hours looking through videos, pictures, and sound recordings I have taken this year. Only one more week at Colegio Interamericano, then it is back to the USA! I am so excited. For real. I will spend a week in California with my sister and family in LA and Santa Barbara, then it is back up to Olympia, Washington for a while.
Things have gone quite well at Interamericano so far. This week we will be wrapping up in the music classes with our improvisation and compositions lessons, and on Friday afternoon some of the students will show off some of their original work in a short performance during the last period of the day. I will also be taking some videos of the student songs to add to the final video.
Speaking of my video, I have been spending quite a bit of time lately sifting through clips to see what is going to make it into the final cut. What I have so far looks pretty cool, so I am excited, but there is quite a bit more to get done. Expect a trailer of sorts in a week or two, and the full version in late December/January. #musicislife
This weekend I got a chance to out to Antigua, one of the original capitals of the country, which is now a big tourist destination and a popular place to get away from the city for a weekend. Pretty fun. Check out the pictures below.
Other than that, be on the look out for a more extended wrap-up blog post or two in the next week or so! Hasta luego, amigos.
